Safeguarding
Here at St. Martins, we are committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults. We want everyone to thrive, have fun and meet with God - all in a safe environment.

If you have a concern about the safety of someone, or the actions of someone working with children or vulnerable adults, please speak to someone. If you want you can also complete this form and send it to safeguarding @exminster.church

Our Safeguarding Representative is Jo Kirkcaldy via safeguarding@exminster.church
You can reach the Diocesan Safeguarding Team via this link:

If you are a young person and feel unhappy about something happening to you, you can also call Childline on 0800 1111
We adhere to the Exeter Diocese Safeguarding Policy which is contained in ‘Promoting a Safer Church’ and further guidance can be sought from the National Church’s Safeguarding Policies and Practice Guidance. Our clergy and parish staff refer to the National Church’s Parish Safeguarding Handbook for advice on responding to concerns.

Many of you will be aware that over the past years there has been a public investigation and review of safeguarding policy and practice (including where it has failed in its duty to protect and care for the victims) in a number of public institutions, including the Church of England and Catholic church. Part of the response to the findings of the enquiry is the establishment of Safe Spaces.
Safe Spaces is a free and independent support service, providing a confidential, personal and safe space for anyone who has been abused through their relationship with either the Church of England or the Catholic Church of England and Wales.
More information about the services offered can be found here:
